Cloth Diapering 101: Getting Started

Before beginning my cloth diapering adventure I need to pick up a few necessities. These are the items that not only make cloth diapering much easier but also allow you to have a house that doesn't smell like a poopy diaper! I bought all of my necessities either at my local Target or off Amazon.com.

Diaper Pail: A medium-sized, lidded trash can from Target will serve as my diaper pail. Total cost= $10

Diaper Pail Liner: A waterproof, odor-absorbing liner developed for cloth diapers is an absolute necessity. Place it in your diaper pail, cinch it tight, and you're ready to go. Once you're ready to wash the diapers take it out of the pail, carefully pour the diapers in your washing machine and throw the bag in with everything to wash too!
Total cost= $15

Diaper sprayer: One of the modern conveniences that makes cloth diapering much easier! The diaper sprayer connects directly to the flexible water line of your toilet, allowing you to spray solid waste directly into the toilet to be flushed away. The sprayed-off diapers can then be placed in your diaper pail.
Total cost= $33

Wet Bag: Wet bags are used for on-the-go cloth diapering and be kept in your diaper bag. After removing the soiled diaper place it in the waterproof wet bag until you get home and can transfer it to your diaper pail.
Total cost= $10

Total cost for cloth diapering basics= $68

Hi Anya! That's a good question! I'm assumming it contains smell since it's lined in plastic and waterproof, but once I try it out I'll let you know! :)
