Tip #2: Never say Never!

Many times when we want to start taking control of our health and fitness, we use a lot of absolutes. "I'm never going to eat ice cream again" or "I'm not going to eat fast food anymore". For some reason saying this seems to make us want to do it more. Also, we can't expect ourselves to be perfect. If we do, we will ALWAYS fail. Instead, if you eat fast food three times a week, cut back to once or twice a week. Eventually you will be able to cut it back more and may even stop craving Big Macs altogether. The secret is to not let yourself feel like you're depriving yourself of these things. In fact, I encourage you to enjoy these things every once in a while, just don't make it a daily habit. After a hard week of working out and eating healthy, it is ok to treat yourself to a Frosty and a Wendy's cheeseburger, if you so desire. After a while something kind of amazing happens; You actually lose the desire to put these things into your body. That to me is the best way to ease into a healthier lifestyle that you can maintain for many years to come.

Might be the oldest trick in the book, but I actually never thought about it! Makes complete sense... I wonder if it'll work for me, I'm so bad at sticking to diets. :(
