Giving Back: Project Peanut Butter

20 Million Children Suffer From Severe Acute Malnutrition

Severe acute malnutrition (SAM) is the leading cause of death for children under the age of five. More than 3.5 million die from SAM each year.
Project Peanut Butter is a nonprofit organization that has revolutionized the concept of feeding the world's hungry- one jar of peanut butter at a time. Back in 1999 Dr. Mark Manary created a food product based on Ready To Use Therapeutic Foods (RUTFs). Dr. Manary and his team then administered RUTFs to severely malnourished children throughout Africa and began experiencing instant success! After feeding children the Project Peanut Butter RUTFs more than 95% made a full recovery, compared to the 25-40% who recover using traditional therapies. The goal of Project Peanut Butter is to save over 2 million children by 2015.

What can you do to help?
You can help save a child by making a one-time or monthly donation to Project Peanut Butter. $50 saves a set of twins. $100 saves a cluster of children. $1000 treats an entire village. Can you put a price on a child's life? I am making a $25 donation each month through an automatic Paypal payment. Are you ready to donate? Go here to get started!

Will you give more than you take from this world?
