Eating Solids- Advice Needed!

So Jackson has now been eating solids for about a month now and things are going SO well! He absolutely loves all of the food we've made him so far and gobbles them up every night for dinner. He currently eats 2 tablespoons of cereal (organic Earth's Best oatmeal or Happy Baby Organic Brown Rice) with a couple tablespoons of a fruit or veggie. So far he's eaten bananas, apples, and pears for fruits and peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, and zucchini for veggies. So my question is when do we start adding in another meal? We are still exclusively breastfeeding (aside from his dinner at night) and I want him to be nursing as his primary source of nutrients until he's a year old. He does seem ready for more food though and I'd like to start giving him breakfast in the morning. Any ideas or suggestions? The next foods we're going to be trying are avacados and peaches. Any other suggestions for good "second stage" foods to try? He's been sitting independently for a month now and is scooting all over the house, so I think he's about ready to move on to slightly chunkier purees. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Our boys are so close in age! I am also really confused about this. Like he seems so ready for more but I don't want be over feeding him or for him to start nursing less!

Exactly! My worst fear is that I'll lose my milk supply because he's eating too many solids! I know my milk contains everything he needs for the first year but I also know he needs to be eating some "real" food. It's so confusing to try and figure out how much is too much! Let me know what you find out!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and encouraging comment on my blog. It makes me feel better to know someone's been through what I'm going through and it did get better.

As for solids, I'm not a good person to give advice on this subject since he's eating solids 3 times a day (dr recommended), but I did want to say that Camden is a HUGE avocado fan. I think that's a good stage 2 food to start with. Good luck.

We actually bought cookbook for our son that has helped so much. It breaks ages and stages down to what you can feed and what to avoid. It's great!! He'll eat anything pretty much. Pasta, steamed broccoli, and we also give him deli meat which he loves. Barnes & Nobles has some great ones. Hope this helps :)
